Carolan Show (solo or duo)
The Life and Music of Turlough O'Carolan:
Turlough O'Carolan was an Irish harper/composer whose work came to its fullest during the 17th century!
His music shows a wide world awareness by speaking in the baroque language of Bach and Handel - but with a vivid Irish twist.
Due to the universal nature of his music, he is often the first step in finding ones way to Irish music. There's plenty of variety in Carolan's music to engage an audience.
This show works very well as a solo show and can be combined with an academic program giving details of Carolan's life and music.
It also works well when Áine is joined by renowned clarinetist Tom Hill (Boston Chamber Music Society). See Tom's bio in downloads on this page)
(audio samples of Carolan's music on this page. Áine has recorded at least 10 of his pieces).
Multi media is not available for this program.

Any Irish harpist on the planet plays O'Carolan! His music is lovely and I've recorded at least 10 of his compositions (audio samples on this page - see downloads in right margin)
Classical Concert Series:
Since the music is close to the baroque style, it's a nice path of entry for lovers of classical music and tends to work well for just such audiences.
Academic Settings:
This program works well for libraries and academic settings. The level can be adjusted to the needs of the audience.
At university level, the program can be offered to under graduate students in a variety of streams. (music, history, Irish studies) At post graduate level, more complex aspects of Irish music are incorporated, particularly the older music forms related to the harp.
This show works well solo or as a duo with world-class, classical clarinetist Tom Hill.
