How Many Musicians Are In DruidStone?
DruidStone can consist of one to five musicians plus dancers, if requested. We are happy to assemble combos at your request. Generally speaking, you can have one musician or up to five, depending on your music taste, the requirements for the venue, the part of the wedding you require DruidStone to play at, as well as your budget.
The following musicians are available:
Harp/vocals
Fiddle and/or flute
Keyboards
Percussion
Irish dancers, if requested (reception only)
Dance Caller, if requested (reception only)
What is a "Dance Caller"?
A Dance Caller is someone who teaches people to do various figure dances during the course of the reception. The caller will give instructions in advance for simple figures for people to perform and she will proceed to "call" the "figures" as people proceed (or more accurately "try" to proceed) to do the figures.
What Music Does DruidStone Play?
Selections from the CD, The Vow can be chosen or we will be happy to work with you to make suggestions for numerous other selections. We have a great deal of Celtic music that is suitable for ceremonies as well as numerous selections for receptions.
How is DruidStone Different From Other Groups?
Essentially DruidStone specializes in Irish and Celtic music. During receptions, DruidStone considers itself as "background" and does not seek to propel the course of the wedding. The idea is that people be able to connect and chat without music that is too loud. We see ourselves as being the "soundtrack" as opposed to the main story line!
At What Point In The Wedding Does DruidStone Play?
There are generally three sections to a wedding:
a) ceremony
b) cocktail hour
c) reception
DruidStone will play for as many or as few sections of the event as you would like.
What About A Sound System?
We supply the sound system. We ask that you either check with the venue to make sure sufficient electrical outlets are available or else put us in touch with the banquet manager and we will be happy to check for you.
Can DruidStone play outdoors?
Weather permitting, yes.
How much does it cost?
The cost depends on a few factors:
a) location
b) how many sections of the wedding you need DruidStone to play for
c) how many musicians you would like during each section
